GRADE 8 GRADUATION REHEARSAL

OUR LAST REHEARSAL FOR GRADE 8 GRADUATION WILL TAKE PLACE ON WEDNESDAY JUNE 25th in the AFTERNOON.

ALL STUDENTS MUST BE PRESENT to know when and where they need to be. Girls may bring shoes if they would like to for the rehearsal.

Report cards will go out at 3:15pm on that day.

We will be practicing for the graduation ceremony tomorrow - THURS JUNE 19 - Period 6.

1) FIELD TRIP TOMORROW!! - ALL STUDENTS MUST BRING A PACKED LUNCH TO BE EATEN AT SCHOOL DURING PERIOD 4 - STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO GO TO YONGE STREET

2) LPCI STUDENTS - Information was handed out today from LP staff which gave a presentation on the Camp Olympia trip for the fall.

GRADE 7 FRENCH QUIZ AND HOMEWORK

Quiz this Friday, June 20th on à/de + l'article défini. We are reviewing this week. If you did not finish the sheet in class today, finish it for homework. Must be done for tomorrow's class.

GRADE 8 FRENCH QUIZ AND HOMEWORK

Quiz on le partitif and le partitif avec la négation this Friday, June 20th.

If you did not finish the practice sheets in class today, you need to finish them for homework. Due tomorrow.

GRADE 8 FRENCH

Please bring a piece of art (or a picture of a piece of art) to French class with you on Tuesday, June 17th. It can be art that you have made yourself or art that you admire by another artist. You will be given time in class on Tuesday to prepare an oral presentation about it (form of art, theme, description, materials, personal impression). Presentations will be at the end of next week. Rubric and planning sheet will be distributed on Tuesday.  If you forget to bring your own art on Tuesday, you will have to choose from samples provided by Mme Tate (courtesy of Ms. Rix).

7B FRENCH

In class today we finished discussing and correcting the test de lecture and the quiz sur l'inversion et le futur proche. Please have both signed by a parent and return to Mme Tate ASAP.

7A FRENCH

GRADE 8 GEOGRAPHY

Chapter 8 Test and Trade Brochure Project were returned today. Please share the results with your parents.

Notebooks were returned and are meant to be taken home. We will be working on mapping for the remainder of this week and next week.

8A, 8C FRENCH

If you did not complete the worksheet in class today, you must finish it for homework tonight. The side called "Le musee d'art" is practice describing a work of art - use your vocab lists from the unit to help you. The side with the crossword is review of les adverbes en -ment - use your adverb chart to help you.

GRADE 7 and 8 HEALTH CLASSES

All HEALTH classes with Mr Norris are now PHYS ED classes OUTSIDE for the remainder of the year.

Please ensure that you come prepared with the appropriate change of clothes and shoes for your Health period classes.

8A WEEKEND FOCUS

1) HEALTH - all future Health classes are now PHYS ED classes outside - you must come to class prepared with the appropriate change of clothes and shoes.

2) Come prepared for class on Monday with your Disney movie review devices and DVDs

3) DANCE assignments are due for presentation on MONDAY JUNE 16th.

4) Please ensure that you speak with all your teachers to see if you have any outstanding assignments so that everything is completed for the report card assessments.

Population Pyramid and Map Assignment were handed back today. Please communicate with your parents in terms of your results.

GRADE 7 FRENCH TEST

This is a reminder that there will be a reading comprehension test in French class this week:

7A - Wednesday, June 4th
7B - Thursday, June 5th

You will have to read a text that you haven't seen before and answer multiple choice and short answer questions. The text will be related to the themes in our unit Un monde pour tout le monde. You will be allowed to use the textbook, a dictionary and the notes in your binder to help you.

To prepare, you are encouraged to review question words and the vocabulary list from the unit. You should have notes on both of these items in your binder.
