GRADE 8 FRENCH

Open-book quiz on telling time was returned and corrected in class on Thurs. Nov. 28th.  It should be taken home for parent signature and returned ASAP.

Students who would like an opportunity to raise their mark on this quiz can come in for an extra evaluation task on Thursday, December 5th at 8:10 a.m.  In order to earn this privilege, students must be completely up-to-date with their responsibilities:
- dialogue assignment must be signed and returned
- ER verb test must be signed and returned
- note on telling time must be complete
- 2 homework sheets on telling time must be complete
- time quiz must be corrected, signed and returned
- IR verb homework package must be complete and submitted.

Attention Grade 7 and 8 Volleyball Team! re: Outstanding Paperwork

Students who have not yet returned signed tests and assignments for French (or other such subjects) will not be able to travel with the team to Thursday Matches that are during school hours. Return them asap; you have 1.5 days. This should not be an issue for students who are involved in school sports. Extra-curricular comes second.

Grade 7 and 8 French study packages

Students should have brought home a study package for French either last Friday, Nov. 8th or Monday, Nov. 11th. The study package includes a play script, vocabulary lists, song lyrics, grammar rules and a Salut mon ami DVD (if you ordered one). Students will need to refer to these study packages over the next few months so please put them in a safe place.

I will send regular updates on what students should be reviewing at home. For the next week students should practice Section D vocabulary and watch the play on the DVD (if you have one).

FRENCH Parent-Teacher Interviews

All of Mme Tate's slots for parent-teacher interviews on Thursday evening and Friday morning have been filled. If you would still like to discuss your child's progress in French, please send me an email at lesya.tate@tdsb.on.ca and we'll coordinate a mutually convenient time to connect either over the phone or in person.

URGENT Update for Gr 7/8 Science and Technology Student Parent Teacher interviews

All non-7A students/parents received cancellation emails. Please re-book your Gr 7 and 8 Science interviews on Monday 11 Nov. This will allow the 7A students/parents to book with their Core Teacher.

Additional time slots will be available.

Note on Parent Teacher Interview Bookings

Many of you will receive cancellation notices of the booked times for your interviews. Core/homeroom students have priority with their respective teachers over rotary. Once all core interviews are booked (as best as possible), those teachers will be available for rotary appointments. This is supported by the Board's reporting expectation, that during the progress report, students will have a comment for either Science or Geography. Grade 7 students have Geography comments, where Grade 8 students have science comments. We are doing our best to be as accommodating as possible.

At this point you are asked to only book Core, French, and Art appointments.
